Sitting room revamp: starting the styling process

Four days of work so far and it's all been on the windows. They are the original Victorian wooden sash windows and are in a bit of a sorry state. Luckily they don't need replacing but both the window sills and the window frames have needed a lot of attention and TLC.

Can't wait to see what the wall colour that I've chosen will look like. Previously the walls were a calico colour and the curtains cream so the overall effect of the room was cream. I want to get away from cream so have chosen a cool grey Farrow & Ball colour, Cornforth White.

We may put a different colour on the chimney breast wall, Hardwick White, but that is still to be determined.

I have the task of finding new sofas now.  So many styles and fabrics from which to choose. I will replace the curtains with Roman blinds to enhance the beautiful windows in the bay so another lot of decisions to be made re fabric.  All in good time. Once the room is completed I will sit on the floor if necessary until I have found the right sofas!
