Shift into Summertime with flowers

Vintage Hungarian enamel coffee pot makes an great container for tulips

I love it when the clocks move an hour forward and it's suddenly light until 8pm.  The joys of living so far north in the northern hemisphere. Since our clocks changed on Sunday the weather has been fabulous.

Today (Tuesday 1st April) was sunny and warm (up to 20°C). Unlike many countries, the UK has clearly defined seasons so we welcome the changes.

My three square feet of outdoor space (outside the kitchen door) is north facing so I await with anticipation when the sun finally comes around to the back of our properties. Today was the first day since last summer that the sun hit my outdoor space so I wanted to share that with you.

I have also shared a few photos of tulips and daffodils that I've crammed into containers in the house to make it feel more cheerful. It makes one feel good to be alive!!!

Anemones and sweet peas - my two favourite flowers

First day since last summer that the sun has set on my north facing outdoor space! The light is amazing.

I can't believe my rocket and fennel are already so prolific and it's only 1 April!

Sun on our back gardens at 7.15pm!

The front of my property (south facing) and my favourite blue daisy is a mass of flowers.

My borage plants at the front of the property overlooking the Common

It's 7pm and the joggers are out in force!
