September 20, 2013 Angela Bunt

The curtain fitters have just finished dressing the windows of my sitting room. I had grey, interlined linen Roman blinds made for the bay window and a large interlined curtain in a vintage-style floral linen on a brass pole. See the new style.

Sitting room revamp: restoring a unique folding chair

September 14, 2013 Angela Bunt
20130913-chair1.jpg 20130913-chair2.jpg

Don't you just love this chair?  It was given to me by a very dear friend who moved houses and didn't need it. I absolutely love the shape. It needs some minor restoration but I plan to leave the gold corduroy fabric on the seat and just replace the fabric on the back of it.

It actually folds up so is very versatile. And it's incredibly comfortable. I've no idea where it originated, i.e., what style is it? Italian? Moroccan? Who knows?

In the second picture you can see where I've placed it in the sitting room opposite the door where you enter the room and it makes a great focal point especially with the artwork above it.

Learn to paint furniture with chalk paint

Did you know I run a workshop on how to paint furniture with chalk paint? It's called the Power of Paint and I run it from my home with very small numbers so I can give plenty of one-on-one tuition.  The workshop runs from 10am to 3pm and includes a picnic style lunch of salads, cheeses and charcuterie.  It's a lot of fun and you leave with a piece of your own furniture painted and ready to use!
